What operating system should I have?
If you're buying a new PC, we recommend Windows Vista as the operating system. If you buy a Windows Vista system, we recommend getting at least Windows Vista Home Premium, as the University does not support Vista Home Basic. Windows XP is supported, but Windows XP Home is not recommended. Windows 2000, Windows 98, and Windows ME are no longer officially supported
by Penn. For Mac users Mac OS X Leopard is supported and recommended. Tiger
is supported, but not recommended. Earlier versions of Mac OS are not supported.
