Connect to Wireless
Where is Wireless?
Wireless networking is available in the dining and courtyard areas in Hill College House
and in several common spaces in Hamilton College House, Harnwell College House, and
Harrison College House.
Wireless access is available in public areas on campus:

What do I need?
You need a laptop with a wireless network card. These
cards are sold at the Computer
Connection. (If you bought an IBM ThinkPad from
the Back-to-School sale, your computer has a wireless
network card built-in.)
How do I use it?
If you are in an area with a wireless network, your
computer should automatically locate the network. In
Windows, you may get a popup by the system tray like
the one shown below:

If you're not sure that you're connected
to the right network, just double-click the network
icon in the system tray (the icon of the two computers,
as shown above), and select "wireless-pennnet"
from the list.
You still need to authenticate yourself in order to
use the wireless network. Just open a web browser (IE,
Netscape), and you will automatically be directed to
the login page.
Log in using your PennKey and password. After you are
authenticated, you will see a logged-on message. This
page simply tells you that you are now authenticated.
When you are finished using the network, you are encouraged
to log out to protect the privacy of your session. You
may wish to keep this browser window open during your
session.
