I’m bringing my own computer. What do I need to get connected to the network?
You need an Ethernet adapter installed in your computer. Virtually every new computer
contains a built-in network adapter, so check your computer before you buy one. Penn's
College House connections are 10baseT (or 10MB) Ethernet connections. The jack looks like
a larger telephone plug. If you’re not sure what to buy, you can purchase an Ethernet card
at the Computer Connection in the Penn Bookstore. Our ITA staff can install the card for
you.
