Are you in need of a work-study job at Penn? Do you have excellent customer service skills? Are you good with troubleshooting computer problems? If so, we want you on our team of Information Technology Advisors (ITAs) in Penn's College Houses!
The ITA's role is to help residents of their College House with their computer problems and computer-related needs.
Be sure to read the full ITA Job Description for more details.
All applicants who lived in a College House in 2007-2008 and are applying to be an ITA in a different College House for 2008-2009 must submit a Notice of Application form to their 2007-2008 House Dean.
If you are selected to be an ITA, you must attend ITA training from August 25 to August 26 for ITAs, and from August 19-20 for Senior ITAs. No exceptions will be made under any circumstances! ITAs can move into their rooms on Sunday, August 24, and Senior ITAs can move into their rooms on Monday, August 18. ITAs are not charged for early move-in, and lunch and dinner are provided during training. ITAs should expect to be especially busy during the first few weeks of September -- however, exceptions are made for freshmen ITAs to take advantage of New Student Orientation.
To apply, click the link below. Before you begin, please have the following information ready:
  • Your contact information during the summer.
  • Your room assignment for 2008-2009. (It's okay if you don't have it yet -- we'll update your application when the assignment is made.)
  • Whether or not you will have a work-study grant. This is very important! Most jobs can only be given to work-study students; however, we still encourage highly-qualified non-work-study students to apply.
  • A resumé -- you can upload this as a Microsoft Word document, a text file, or you can simply type it into a text box on the application.
  • You will also be asked about your previous customer service and technical experience. If you feel that you have not had much technical experience, we still encourage you to apply. We're looking for people who demonstrate excellent customer service, and have the ability to learn quickly and effectively.
Applicants who lived in the College Houses in 2007-2008 and are applying for an ITA position in a DIFFERENT College House must submit this form to their current (2008-2009) House Dean.
